June Mission Report – Sonia
I was blessed abundantly as God opened an unexpected door for me to come back to Nepal with my friend Carmen. Our goal was to reach Mugu, an unreached area in north-west Nepal. We traveled for four days by plane, bus, jeep, tractor and by foot through breathtaking scenery. But as we walked the valleys and villages we also witnessed the great need of those living there. So many people without a knowledge of Jesus. There were marks of hinduism and pagan practices all over. And we would notice how the people struggled due to lack of proper medical attention.
2 Cor 4:6 – For God who commended the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our heart to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
What a huge responsibility to shine for Jesus in the middle of so much darkness. It was the first time that SDA people arrived that remote village when Paul, Arjun and Bikram went there a few weeks ago as a response to God’s calling. In the village there is a small (4-member) group of Christians who had previously have had Bible truth presented to them. Now they have decided to become Adventist. They are desperately needing Bibles, hymn books, and other Adventist literature. We also need help sending more workers to visit and continue teaching the Bible truth.
We had many miracles along our way and saw how God orchestrated people from different parts to work together with one desire to help this unreached area. The mule that was supposed help carry our bags and backpacks never came. But shortly after we started our hike God sent a man to help us carry our supplies. This man was our “angel” who God sent to lighten our load! God also saved from many accidents while on the dangerous mountains roads and kept us from getting serious sickness.
We want to thank each one of you for all the prayers and monetary help. We could not have been able to do it without you. Each one of you made it possible to carry light to the darkness.
Isa 52:7– How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that brigeth good tidings, that publishes peace, that brigeth good tidings of good, that published salvation; that saith unto zion, thy God is reigneth.
I also want to thank Paul, Arjun and Bikram for answering God’s call and for going to one of the hardest unreached area in Nepal. Thank you Carmen and Joshua for coming to Nepal and for loving the work for God no matter the struggles. Our Father we have not enough to thank you for your love, care, guidance and protection to each one of us. GLORY BE TO GOD
